LinkedIn Expands AI InMail Feature to Support Recruitment Efforts

LinkedIn AI-powered job outreach

LinkedIn is continuing to develop its AI capabilities within hiring as it recently introduced an InMail feature to help recruiters reach job candidates in an automated way. This marks another step forward for LinkedIn AI-powered job outreach. Moreover, the tool gives recruiters new tools to connect with potential candidates efficiently.

The AI-powered outreach tool will provide LinkedIn’s Hiring Pro customers with a way to draft personalized InMail emails directly to job candidates based on the information related to a certain position. In addition, LinkedIn mentions the feature as being intended to assist hiring teams to invite candidates to submit their applications for consideration.

How LinkedIn Uses AI for InMail Outreach to Candidates

In a recent blog post LinkedIn explains that the AI-driven job outreach works via analyzing job details and candidate profiles in order to prepare an initial draft of a personalized InMail email. Afterward, the recruiter has an opportunity to review the draft. They can then make necessary changes before delivering the message.

Therefore, the process will still require some human involvement because the system will not send automatic outreach messages, even if recruiters prepare the messages in advance. LinkedIn also emphasized that the AI-powered tool will only contact candidates recruiters previously sourced.

Up to Five AI InMails Allowed per Job Listing

As mentioned above, recruiters using LinkedIn Hiring Pro can send up to five AI-generated InMail messages to candidates who match specific job listings.

For recruiters it seems like this LinkedIn addition will save some time while preparing personalized outreach emails. For candidates the update means that they may start getting more InMails from companies. However, the messages may be partly generated by AI.

AI Is Now Part of LinkedIn Recruiting Features

However, LinkedIn has not introduced AI for job outreach for the very first time in history of the platform. In fact, LinkedIn has already developed an AI-based solution for creating job listings on the network. It also identifies candidates and helps during the interview process.

With the latest addition LinkedIn continues building its recruitment features with the help of AI. It may prove to be useful for companies as AI-driven hiring processes are generally faster compared to manual ones.

But what implications will the AI-powered recruiting bring? LinkedIn is known to possess probably the largest amount of professional data related to candidates’ profiles. As a result, this puts LinkedIn in advantageous position.

What’s In Store for Recruiters and Candidates

The LinkedIn’s job outreach tool should help recruiters spend less time drafting candidate messages, as they will have an AI-generated draft to start with. However, candidates will start noticing more automated InMails from recruiters trying to attract them for a certain position.

LinkedIn’s Use of AI in Recruitment Process

LinkedIn is obviously taking advantage of having access to vast amounts of professional candidate data in order to introduce AI to the job matching process. If everything will go according to plan it will prove to be a good move for companies. In fact, the AI-driven process will become much faster and more efficient.

Still, recruiters play a very important role in the hiring process as it involves not only analyzing candidate profiles but also evaluating many aspects such as candidate motivation and communication.
