TikTok wants its content to travel further than the phone screen. The platform is expanding its Out of Phone advertising program. Brands can now push TikTok content into more real-world locations. These include billboards, malls, supermarkets, bars, universities and outdoor screens.
The move builds on a program TikTok first launched in 2023. Since then, the company has steadily added more ways to bring TikTok-style content outside the app. That gives advertisers more room to stretch one campaign across digital and physical spaces.
TikTok Is Taking Its Advertising Beyond the App
TikTok’s Out of Phone ads are designed to extend campaigns into physical spaces. Advertisers can reuse TikTok content on screens people see during everyday life. That could mean a billboard, a display in a shopping center or a screen inside a supermarket.
The idea is simple. TikTok already has a visual style that people recognize quickly. The company now wants brands to carry that same format into public spaces. That can give campaigns more reach without forcing brands to build a completely different creative concept.
Six New Partners Are Expanding TikTok’s Reach
TikTok has added six new partners to the Out of Phone program. These include Alight Media, DooH it, Powerpill, Zoom Media, Next-Gen Media and C-Screens. The partnerships will expand TikTok’s presence across several European markets.
The new placements will appear in the UK, France, Belgium, Spain and Italy. Screens will show up in malls, supermarkets, bars and universities. Wellness centers and outdoor TV displays are also part of the expansion. That gives advertisers a much wider range of locations.
Creator Content Can Now Show Up in More Public Spaces
TikTok is not limiting these placements to traditional advertising creative. Brands can also use organic creator content within the expanded program. That gives creator videos more value beyond the app itself.
A polished billboard ad can sometimes feel far removed from TikTok. Creator content keeps more of the platform’s familiar style. A strong TikTok video can now appear on a large public screen without losing the look that made it work online.
The Vistar Media Deal Was an Earlier Step
TikTok had already expanded Out of Phone earlier in 2026 through a partnership with Vistar Media. That deal opened access to more than one million additional digital placements.
Those placements included high-traffic public locations and major outdoor screens. Vistar Media’s network also covers well-known areas such as New York’s Times Square. The latest expansion shows TikTok is continuing to build on that strategy.
TikTok Ads Are Starting to Look More Like Digital Out-of-Home Campaigns
The line between social media advertising and outdoor advertising is getting thinner. TikTok content was built for mobile screens. Now that same style can appear inside stores, public venues and entertainment spaces.
That creates an interesting mix. The creative still feels social, but the distribution looks more like digital out-of-home advertising. For marketers, that means one campaign can move across several environments without losing its core visual identity.
User-Generated Content Could Become More Valuable
User-generated content has become a major part of social advertising. TikTok’s expanded placements could make that content even more useful. Brands can take creator videos that already perform well and place them in front of offline audiences.
That matters for awareness campaigns. Someone might see the same creator video on TikTok and then again inside a shopping mall. Repeated exposure across different environments can make a campaign easier to remember.
Out of Phone May Suit Bigger Campaigns Best
These placements will not suit every advertiser. Large public displays can be expensive, and costs can vary by location. Campaign length and audience size will also affect the price.
That makes Out of Phone more useful for larger launches and high-visibility campaigns. Smaller advertisers may still prefer regular TikTok placements. TikTok also has other options for businesses that want a more limited physical presence.
TikTok Is Building a Broader Advertising Business
Out of Phone is only one part of TikTok’s wider advertising push. The platform has also introduced new premium placements and expanded its advertising tools in 2026.
TikTok is also adding more AI-powered features for marketers. These tools are designed to improve campaign creation, management and analysis. The wider strategy is becoming easier to see. TikTok does not want to remain just an in-feed advertising platform.
Social Content Is Moving Into the Physical World
There is something unusual about seeing TikTok content on a supermarket screen or a university display. Social media once pulled traditional advertising onto phones. Now part of that movement is going in reverse.
Short-form creator content is moving onto billboards and public screens. That does not make TikTok an outdoor advertising company. It does show how recognizable its content style has become.
For advertisers, the latest expansion adds another way to reach people. For TikTok, it means the platform’s content no longer has to stay inside the app.
